Burundi Cup of Excellence returns

After an absence in 2016, Burundi has returned to the Cup of Excellence program with winning lots auctioned on 18 October, achieving an average price of US$9.19 per pound.

All 23 winning lots sold well above the starting price of US$5.50 per pound with the first-place coffee awarded to Kibingo washing station in Kayanza, selling for US$52.30 per pound.

Buyers for this coffee included Maruyama Coffee Company in Japan, Sarutahiko Coffee in Japan, Difference Coffee in the UK, Good Boy Coffee in the US, and Nippon Coffee Trading Company in Japan.
