Cafe Alan Coffee HistoryLuis Yujra has been producing coffee all his life. For 28 years, he has worked in Colonia Villa Catarupi. He told us that Coffee has given him much in his life. Coffee has been very important for the survival of my family. You worry about so many things, but coffee has helped me. He told us that sales for this product are stable, and that there are always buyers. With his production he has been able to support his children and send the oldest two to study agronomy. Luis is proud that his children continue to help the community, and farmers like him. In spite of having been trained by his organization, a large part of the management of his coffee has been undertaken by his sons. It was his sons who convinced him to participate in the competition. Luis wants to encourage youth to participate in the competition because he believes that it helps everybody. I hope that the Cup of Excellence keeps being held. Its been the best thing for all of the coffee producers. We want it, and we thank everyone who helped make this event. Since there have been these competitions, the prices have gone up. The whole Yujra family is waiting for the results of the auction. They want to know how much they have earned before they make any plans. Even so, his children have plans for the farm and plans to keep producing quality coffee.
