Boledu Industrial PLC processes and exports 500,000 to 1,000,000 kilograms of washed and natural dry 74112 variety annually to buyers in the US, England, Korea, Japan, Australia, and Germany. The company was established in 2011 by two friends, Mebrehatu Aynalem (35) and Abiot Ageze (36, pictured above). “We were young when we got involved in the coffee business. Right after school in 2005, we started collecting coffee from farmers and supplying it to washing stations,” said Ato Abiot, shareholder and deputy manager of the company.
Their company is located in Gedeo zone, Gedeb woreda, Hallo Bariti kebele, SNNPR. The PLC is organic certified and works with 650 outgrower farmers on more than 300 hectares. The company owns four washing and drying stations.
Their coffee scored 87.64 and secured 21st place in the competition. “We hope to exhibit our coffee and to be recognized as a specialty coffee producer. This is a great accomplishment, we are so very grateful to the organizers,” said Abiot Ageze.
