Ato Seli Gelgelu Bare is a coffee farmer in Gedeo zone, Gedeb woreda, Worka Cherdesa kebele, SNNPR. He started coffee farming in 1992. He currently has 9 hectares of land and produces up to 13,700 kilograms of sun-dried and pulped Kurumi coffee, which is sold to individual exporters and unions. Ato Seli is a father of 14 children, seven girls and seven boys, and passionate about his work.
In the Cup of Excellence Ethiopia competition, his coffee ranked 27th with 87.07 points. “This feels good, and encourages me to work hard,” he said.
