This Coffee washing station started to operate in 1989. There are 3 000 coffee farmers who bring coffee cherries spread apart on 11 hills. They are themselves organized into associations and this facilitates their training in terms of best agricultural practices. It is a huge coffee washing station as in 1995 it had processed almost 2 000MT of cherries. The quality of coffee produced alongside this station is awesome because all these hills mentioned above are positioned near a big forest known as Kibira forest. There is a plan to certify this station with farmers’ associations.
